Dress Code

Dress Code

We strive to help students grow as learners and as citizens. The Adams Dress Code encourages students to focus on learning, maintain school and age-appropriate attire, and be safe as they express their individuality appropriately. This dress code applies equally to all students. Attire should protect the health and safety of all students. Clothing should be suitable and comfortable for normal school activities.

General clothing standards for all children require that shoes be worn at all times.

The straps of tank tops and dresses must be at least 2 inches wide or covered with another piece of clothing. A limited amount of safe jewelry and appropriate hats are permissible; hats and/or hoods are not to be worn indoors. T-shirts with drug or alcohol labels and/or gang related symbols are not acceptable. Makeup is also not appropriate for the elementary school environment. We expect that our students dress in sturdy, comfortable shoes for the rigors of play. Inappropriate footwear can cause serious foot injuries. Shoes that are open at the toes and/or have high heels are not appropriate.  Many of the above items can be hazardous when running and jumping on the blacktop and dirt playground.

Students who come to school in inappropriate attire will be sent to the office. Parents will be called and asked to provide the student with a change of clothing that is appropriate to the school environment.

Every Monday is “Tiger Spirit Day”. We encourage everyone to wear their Adams spirit shirt on Monday. You can purchase an Adams T-Shirt from Ms. Lani or our PTCO
